At North Shore Equestrian Centre, we pride ourselves on our professional teaching staff. We offer a wide range of lessons and coaching. Creating riders who succeed at all levels is what we're all about.

Our instructors can coach you on your own horse, or you can take a lesson on one of our 20-horse school string - see our school horse picture gallery below! Whether you enjoy the precision of dressage, or the exhilaration of flying over fences, our instructors can meet your needs - find out more about them in our About Us page.

Lessons take place in our indoor arena, large outdoor ring, or our newly covered lower arena.

Our riding school is designed to educate students in both riding technique and stable management skills.
Each level, from novice to advanced, has clearly defined yearly goals.

Our Novice program is geared toward those students who have never ridden or have limited experience. It is an effective introduction to horse care and basic position.

Intermediate students aim toward developing their riding skills and learning more about horse care and stable management.

The Advanced program caters to students who are interesting in building skills to lease or own their own horse. Students will learn what is involved in horse ownership, from economics to health care.

Our coaches and staff can also work with to to create a customized training program to meet your needs.

All of our instructors are qualified horse people who are interested in sharing their knowledge and experience.

Our school horse string consists of approximately 25 horses. All are competent and safe mounts. Tack is provided for each horse.

Our schooling shows throughout the year give students a chance to test their abilities in a fun and low stress environment.

At NSEC, we create riders who know how to have fun in a safe and caring environment. Our school horses are competent and safe mounts who undergo regular assessment. We require students to wear ASTM approved helmets and heeled boots when riding. An important aspect to all of our programs is safety on and around horses.

From September to June, group lessons run hourly from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. We also offer weekday daytime group, private or semi-private lessons. In July and August, we offer week-long 9:00 a.m. to noon or 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Summer Day Camps running Monday through Friday (15 hours of instruction).

Our Group Lesson Program runs September through June. We require a minimum enrolment of 4 months, and thereafter 2 weeks notice to quit.

TRAILS
N.S.E.C. is located near the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve. Boarders and students (with instructor) can enjoy riding year round through a vast network of trails. We do not, however, offer public trail rides or rentals.
