Horse Sales and Part Leases

Sales Horses

From time to time, North Shore Equestrian Centre and boarders at NSEC offer horses for sale or lease. This area of our website features these horses.

Our instructors and staff are happy to assist students who wish to take the next step and lease or buy a horse. Privately-owned horses boarded at our stables are sometimes available for lease.

In order to cover the owner's basic costs, not including training rides, supplements, medical maintenance ect. 
NSEC suggests the following rates for leasing (including HST):

• Half-lease (3 days/week): $570.00/month
• Quarter-lease (2 days/week): $380.00month

These rates are all inclusive, and cover the owner's costs such as board, vet and farrier bills.  However the rates can be negotiated privately between owner and lessor.

NSEC also offers ‘Buying Service' and a Seller Service’ for people ready to purchase or sell a horse. Laura Kinvig will market your horse online and in the Gait Post, arrange viewings, prepare and ride the horse for viewings and negotiate on your behalf. This new service is offered at an introductory rate of 5% of selling price with a $500. minimum (+HST) plus advertising estimated at around $100. per month (+HST).  The Buying Service is a 10% commission (+ HST) which covers all of the horse searching, tryouts, negotiating and arranging vet checks and hauling home to NSEC. Minimum commission is $500. (+HST) Out of town trips are billed 'plus' expenses. 

Dublin

Dublin is a 9 y/o 16.1hh Belgian/Thoroughbred cross.  He is well schooled in hunters and jumpers and has successfully shown in both up to 3'3".  He has scope to jump up to 4' but does require an experienced rider. He also shows great talent for the dressage ring and has started being professionaly trained.

Johnny

Johnny is a 15.3hh 13 y/o Thoroughbred cross and is available for half or quarter lease at NSEC.  He is well schooled on the flat and jumping up to 3'.  Johnny can be quick sometimes so requires a confident rider.  Johnny is for sale for $5000.
